Why Kalasiam

Considered at Every Step

The things that matter in watch repair are often the quiet ones — how a repairer listens, what they leave unchanged, and whether they stand behind their work.

Nothing Changed Without Agreement

Before any work begins you receive a clear assessment. No part is replaced without your knowledge.

Originality Respected

Vintage pieces require caution. We prefer to preserve what is there rather than substitute with modern alternatives.

Written Results Provided

You leave with a written record of what was done — useful for insurance, future servicing, or simply your own reference.

Transparent Pricing

Prices are stated clearly before work begins. There are no additions after the fact.

Ongoing Communication

If something unexpected is found during a service, we pause and contact you rather than proceed without consent.

Convenient Nimmanhaemin Location

Situated in one of Chiang Mai's most accessible districts, easy to find whether you are visiting or a local resident.

Common Questions

Things People Often Ask

How long does a restoration typically take?
It varies with the condition of the piece. A timing regulation may be completed within two to three working days. A vintage restoration can take two to four weeks, particularly if parts need careful sourcing. We discuss timing with you at the start so there are no unexpected waits.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We work on most Swiss, Japanese, and European mechanical and automatic movements. For pieces requiring specialist parts or brand-specific tools we will advise you honestly at the assessment stage rather than attempt work we cannot complete properly.
Is there a fee for the initial assessment?
A brief visual assessment is provided at no charge when you bring your watch in. If a detailed diagnostic on the timing machine is needed, that falls under our Timing Regulation service and the applicable service fee applies.
Can I post my watch to you?
We prefer in-person drop-off as it allows us to discuss the watch with you directly and note any details that matter. If posting is your only option, please contact us first and we will advise on safe packaging and what information to include.
Will original parts be replaced during restoration?
Not without your agreement. We document which parts we feel should be replaced and explain why. If you wish to retain a worn original part rather than substitute it, that is your decision to make.
What does the water resistance rating mean after testing?
After testing we provide a written result stating the pressure level your watch held. We also explain in plain terms what that means for daily use — whether it is safe for hand-washing, rain, or swimming. Older pieces sometimes hold less than their original rating; we will tell you that clearly.
